"We
found the weapons of mass destruction"
This is the lie we kept on repeating after the war to make the first
lie look better. |
We
didn't find diddley squat, all Saddam actually had was a dozen knitting
needles, a pair of nunchukas and a rusty cheesegrater.
|
"I
don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees."
Thats me talking about Hurricane Katrina on September 1 2005
|
In
2004, a year before Katrina, Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency
Management Agency ran an exercise called “Hurricane Pam”
that estimated a Category 3 hurricane hitting New Orleans. It found
that flood waters would surge over levees, creating “a catastrophic
mass casualty/mass evacuation” and leaving drainage pumps crippled
for up to six months. |
“Well, hey, listen, we’ve never been 'stay the course,'
George"
Thats
me, October 23, 2006 Discussing Iraq policy in an interview with
George Stephanopoulos of CBS, |
Staying the course has been the mainstay of our
Iraq policy. It is a phrase I have repeated time and again.
"We
will stay the course."
George W. Bush (thats me) August 30 2006
"We
will stay the course; we will complete the job in Iraq."
George W. Bush (thats me again) August 4th 2005.
And that’s why we’re
going to stay the course in Iraq. And that’s why when
we say something in Iraq; we’re going to do it.
George W. Bush (still me) April 16 2004
"And my message today to those in Iraq is:
We’ll stay the course. "
George W. Bush (who?) April 14th 2004.
"And so we’ve got tough action in Iraq. But we
will stay the course."
George W. Bush (there I go again) April 5th 2004
"We will stay the course until the job is done,
Steve. And the temptation is to try to get the President or somebody
to put a timetable on the definition of getting the job done. We’re
just going to stay the course. "
George W. Bush (yup you've guessed it.) December 15th 2003.
